Cora's Breakfast & Lunch

I would have to give this restaurant a mixed review. The food when you finally get it, is very good. They are too rigid when it comes to special requests. I ordered the Western Omelette, and because I don't eat meat, I asked if they could leave out the ham and put in a bit of cheese instead. The waitress was adamant they couldn't do it. I asked for the manager and she then said she would check with him. When she came back, I was told he said they would do it this time, but not in the future!. I couldn't believe she told me that. So in other words, next time, don't even ask us! So, I'm thinking, OK, next time I won't come here. It's not like I was asking for anything extra. There were 3 of us dining, for a birthday lunch, and I figured we would spend around $50 or more. And they were worried that a bit of cheese was worth more that some ham? Not the way to impress and get repeat customers I'd say. They are also very inconsistent and the same meal can be different each time you go there. In fact, this time, each of us ordered an omelette with fried potatoes. When they came, one plate had a beautiful garnish of fruit ( a slice of cantelope, a piece of fresh pineapple and a large fresh strawberry). Looked beautiful. The other 2 plates had a slice of orange on some lettuce. They should have all been the same in my opinion. Does it really just depend on how the garnish person feels at the moment? I think there should be a more consistent standard. We waited about a half hour for our meal. When it did get to us, it was very good. If I arrived there and there was a long line to get in, I would not wait.

Great Food but horrible service. I have waited in line for over a half an hour each and every time we came but I can't bring myself to return. Sorry - but the service really needs to improve!

Last Saturday, July 8, 2006, my neighbour and I were up in Newmarket with her teenage daughter for a soccer tourney ... went into Cora's for breakfast .. WONDERFUL!! Waitress was very courteous and helpful ... had a great sense of humour. The food was very tasty and because we indicated we had to be at the soccer field by the hour ... she very willingly hustled up the cooking staff .. they were GREAT!!! We'll be back soon. The menu is so extensive and varied .. you need plenty of time to read!!! Enjoyed ourselves immensely while there.

Wonderful selection. It takes a minute or 20 to read the menu. Service was fast with friendly staff. Lots to eat and excellent food.

My daughter and I had lunch at Cora's the other day
and I ordered the wrong meal. When it came to my table
I was disappointed and my daughter told the waitress, she
accommodated us with what we originally wanted. I was very impressed with this. My daughter and her friend are going back again today.
The food was excellent - Thank you.
